Hello George Chen,

Next week we will mark the two-year anniversary of the earthquake that struck the nation of Haiti. As we remember the tragic loss it caused, we must also celebrate the profound and inspiring progress being made towards recovery.

The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund continues to work with the Haitian people to foster the sustainable future that Haitians have been striving for. For every $1 that the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund has given out, we have made possible more than $3 in program services on the ground.

Today, that impact can extend beyond just dollars raised. You can support Haitians by sharing Haiti’s successes with friends and family — and kids from around the United States are doing just that.

Through the Celebrate Haiti Poster Project, kids are using their own talent and curiosity to set an example of how we can all become the ambassadors of hope that Haiti needs.

You too can share Haiti’s promise by spreading the word about a new program dedicated to developing Haiti’s hospitality workforce.

Last year, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund made a $264,000 grant to the Oasis Foundation to reopen l’École Hôtelière d’Haitienne — the Haiti Hotel School. The School is using our grant to train approximately 400 students over the next two years. It will also help to place these newly trained hospitality professionals into jobs in the hospitality and tourism industries across the country.

The hospitality students returning to school to boost Haiti’s tourism industry are inspirations that point to a bright future. As we hear more of these stories of promise, it is crucial that we share the important work being done and the vital work that is left to do.

See more of the posters kids have created for Haiti, and learn how you can teach others about Haiti today:

Thank you for your commitment to hope in Haiti.

Sincerely,

William J. Clinton
George W. Bush
