   “她經常哭，”奧巴馬同母異父的妹妹-瑪雅·蘇托洛說，“看到動物或者兒童被虐待，看了一部傷心的電影，她都會哭。”但，在瑪雅眼裡，母親也是勇敢的。 “她很能幹。她經常騎著摩托車，出去，做田野調查。她能看到問題的核心，她知道：誰要為此負責。”

   在奧巴馬身上，深深地烙著母親的烙印。在奧巴馬執政的4年中，他的招牌笑容，竟然和他的媽媽一模一樣。

   第一次婚姻

   18歲，成為黑人的新娘

   她出生於1942年，比國務卿希拉里早5年。她的父母，給她起了一個男孩名“斯坦利”。她一直到高中，都沒有改名，儘管在此期間，她不得不忍受人們對她名字的取笑。
