目前，澳大利亚警方已将6名犯罪嫌疑人抓获，并拒绝保释。警方强调，此案并非针对中国公民，同时,遭抢劫的,还有另外4人。

　　北京时间,23日中午12时30分，悉尼市华裔副市长-郭耀文通过官方微博@RobertKok向遇袭的两位中国留学生表示“诚挚道歉”。他表示，将尽快和(悉尼)警察与学校联系，让悉尼市政府为两位同学提供更多帮助，并随时公布进展。

　　郭耀文强调指出，“无论何时，悉尼市对于任何歧视行为，尤其是种族歧视，绝不容忍。我本人也是澳大利亚的早期移民，我坚信，在这个国家的每一个人,都应该享受平等和尊重。”

　　此前，澳大利亚前总理、前外长，现国会议员陆克文通过官方微博@陆克文议员-表达了对中国留学生在澳洲遇袭的“关心”。他介绍说，“我直接给(澳大利亚)移民部长打个电话，给(澳大利亚)外交部副部长打个电话，发给中国驻澳洲大使以及澳洲住北京大使几个短信，还有(悉尼)警察局局长。”

　　郭耀文和陆克文通过微博的公开回应，引发了广大网友的“交口称赞”。网友@v刘铭跟帖说，“(悉尼)市长能在第一时间来说话，我相信这个问题(,)很快就能得到妥善处理的。相信今后的中国籍留学生在悉尼的安全能得到更有效的保护。”
