今年，已有数家来自美国、英国、德国、日本的高新技术外资企业，选择上海,作为发力投资的地点。据上海市商务委透露，截至今年5月，落户上海市的跨国公司地区总部,已经达到了332家，在中国内地省市中,位列第一。中国目前,环保节能市场的需求,正逐渐升高，这让大量的顶尖外资企业,看到了其背后的巨大盈利空间，上海拥有便利的交通、大量的科技产业园区,以及优惠政策，这使得外资企业,纷纷选择上海，作为打入国内高新环保技术市场的桥头阵地。

6月底，德国拜耳材料科技,在上海,举行了聚合物科研开发中心三期扩建的奠基仪式，将把该聚合物科研开发中心,打造为拜耳全球性的创新中心。拜耳股份有限公司管理委员会主席马尔金·戴克斯博士表示，中国,现在,已经成为在亚太区最大的市场，也是拜耳全球第三大单一市场。目前，太阳能发电,以及绿色环保材料的需求,正与日俱增，这让他们下定决心,将研发中心转移到上海，以便提供更为本土化的服务和产品。

资料显示，中国香港,有1246家跨国公司地区总部,和2644家地区办事处;新加坡,有4000多家跨国公司地区总部。
