当天试飞的四座小型飞机“Naraon”,展示旋转上升、平行飞行,以及盘旋等的飞行性能后，正式开启了韩国制造飞机的历史。
这架小型飞机,使用碳素复合材料，机体的90％左右,完全依靠韩国自有技术制成。该飞机的引擎,可降低10％的能耗，最大起飞重量1633公斤，最大飞行高度7600米，最高时速389公里，续航能力1850公里，可以从韩国,飞往日本、中国各个城市,以及东南亚国家。售价,估计为6亿韩元（约合69万新加坡元）。
据韩方公布的统计数字，截至去年年底，韩国航空客运量,和货运量,分别位居全球第十五位,和第三位，航空安全等级,位居世界前列;在研制民用飞机方面,处于起步阶段，从超轻型飞机,到小、中、大型飞机等,均依赖进口。
为了破解这一局面，韩国政府,从2008年开始,大力开展航空产学研合作项目，终于获得重要进展。
韩国航空宇宙产业方面表示，韩方将在2013年之前,继续投入774亿韩元（=8900万新加坡元），完成制造“Naraon”。若今后韩国,美国两国政府签订双边航空安全协定(BASA)，将为韩国民航飞机出口,奠定基础，希望到2014年,能出口600架小飞机。
