纳赛尔当天,在纽约总部,召开年终记者会时,说，联大已经收到朝鲜常驻联合国代表团要求-为金正日默哀的申请。“基于联大的议事程序，先例和外交礼仪，联大将在当天下午,第二委员会开会前,为金正日默哀一分钟;但是,没有讲话及其他内容。”
联大计划于当地时间22日下午3时,举行全体会议，听取第二委员会的报告。
