Dear sihong

Did you happen to see Lateline last night? Paul Keating was interviewed about his perspective on putting a price on pollution.

The interview was a timely reminder from our former Prime Minister about what a proud legacy the Labor movement has of economic reform.

Major economic reform has not always been easy – but we’ve always sought to do what is right, to be the Party that brings in reforms that ensure the security and prosperity of future generations.

Time has always vindicated the case for reform.

Just like the tough decisions made by Labor Governments like the floating of the Australian Dollar and the introduction of national superannuation has formed the basis of the strength of Australia’s economy today so to will pricing pollution.

That’s why if you haven’t seen it yet, please take a moment to watch former Prime Minister Keating’s interview about Labor’s proud legacy of economic reform. (There is also a great Keating analysis of Tony Abbott’s so called “Direct Action” policy and why it’s so badly flawed).

There’s no denying we’ve got a long road ahead of us, but this is about what kind of future we want to leave our kids and our grandchildren.

At the heart of our plan to put a price on pollution is good Labor policy; we are supporting jobs, helping those who need it most all the while ushering in major economic reform to ensure our future prosperity.

How you can get involved

Take five minutes to watch last night’s interview and join our ‘Five Simple Actions’ campaign: five things you can do today to help share facts & information about Labor’s plan to put a price on pollution.

Together we can build a clean energy future.
