主题: We’re not sitting still

Hey —

A few weeks ago, I shared with you that President Obama would declare 2014 a year of action, acting where he can to build an economy that ensures opportunity for all Americans. And he’s already taken steps to achieve that goal in the areas of education and skills, job creation, energy, and raising the minimum wage.

I wanted you to be the first to know about new actions the President will take this week to keep that progress going.

This week, the President will announce new action on manufacturing, infrastructure, and transportation jobs, and a new initiative to ensure everyone who is willing to work hard has a shot at success.

Here’s a sneak peek of how the President will use his pen and his phone this week:

Thanks for getting the word out,

Dan

  1. 《金瓶梅》是明朝末期的一部经济百科全书。这一点,从西门庆一家的“幸福生活”中,可见一斑。

    西门庆一家的“衣”!

    古代不讲究名牌,只讲究质地和式样。
    例如,西门庆要跟乔大户订娃娃亲,他为妻妾们六人做30件衣服,衣料都是用“南边织造的”好料子,式样很讲究。
    光是剪裁的工钱,就给了赵裁缝五两银子。

    明朝的一两银子,相当于今天的人民币200元钱。
    一两为十钱;一钱为十分。
    一钱银子相当于今天的20元钱;
    一分银子相当于今天的两元钱;
    五两银子就相当于人民币1000元钱。
    30元钱裁一件,材料费和缝制的工价不在其内。

    李瓶儿是众妻妾们中最有钱的,衣服鞋袜最多。
    单是鞋,就有一百多双。
    冬天穿一件貂鼠皮袄,值60两银子,合人民币12000元。

    西门庆一家的“食”!

    一次,潘金莲斗牌、她赢了三钱银子,合60元人民币。
    她撺掇家中公认的女财主李瓶儿添上七钱银子,让仆人们安排了一桌酒席:买了一只烧鸭、两只鸡、一些“下饭”(即小凉菜)、一坛子金华酒、一瓶白酒,还买了一钱银子的果馅凉糕……
    然后,众妻妾们大吃了一顿。

    这一切,一共用去一两银子,相当人民币200元。
    又是鸡、又是烧鸭、又是酒、又是菜、又是点心。
    明朝万历年间,运河两岸的百姓生活,物质极大丰富,物价不高。

    西门庆一家的“住”!

    一处“门面两间两层,大小四间”的平房,质量一般,要35两银子,相当于7000元人民币。
    常峙节向西门庆借贷,买了这样一处房子。这是带产权的房子。
    好地段的房子要贵一些。
    西门庆“刮”上伙计韩道国的妻子王六儿,花120两,买了狮子街繁华地段“门面二间,到底四层”的宅子给她住,这要算西门庆的外宅了。

    算下来,常峙节的房子,每一平方米价格不到200元钱。
    王六儿的房子,每一平方米,合300元。比起今天京城,每一平方米上万元的房价,便宜得不可思议。

    不带产权的房子,就更便宜了。
    卖炊饼的武大郎,“凑了十数两银子,典得县门前楼上下二层房屋居住。第二层是楼,两个小小院落,甚是干净”。
    “典”是使用权的转移,没有产权,可以在一定期限内住下去,不用月月交租钱。
    将来,房主有了钱,可以赎回去。

    武大郎的十数两银子,合3000元人民币吧,是很便宜的。
    在今天,大城市的闹市区,3000元钱,就是一套两居室,每一个月的租金。

    西门庆一家的“行”!

    明朝人出行,或骑马,或坐轿。
    西门庆出行一般是骑马。
    他的那匹白马,价值七八十两银子。
    算是名副其实的“宝马”了。

    女人出门,一般要雇轿子,如同今天“打的”。

    一次,潘金莲的母亲潘姥姥来给她女儿贺寿,轿到门前,她没钱打发轿夫,她来向女儿要,潘金莲也拿不出,母女俩吵闹一场。最后,还是三娘孟玉楼看不过去,拿出银子,打发走了轿夫。

    其实,轿钱不贵,只有六分银子,折合今天的人民币,才12元钱,也就是“打的”的起步价。

    潘金莲原本就穷,西门庆又看重钱,所以,潘金莲的窘迫,可想而知。
    西门庆虽然是潘金莲的丈夫,但他还有另三顶帽子:商人、官僚、市井恶霸。
    在这几种身份中,最根本的,还是商人。

    西门庆有三个赚钱的途径。

    其一是经商所得。一般的商业经营方式有两种,一是坐商,有铺面,设店经营;一是行商,搞长途贩运。

    西门庆是把行商与坐商结合在一起来搞。

    另一手段是偷税、漏税。

    第三,他骨子里是个商人。
    所以,他娶妻、纳妾,有两条标准:一是妻妾要懂得风情;
    另一个,是要有钱。
    娶潘金莲,是因为色;娶李瓶儿,让他结结实实捞了一大把。如同今天之吃软饭男!

    西门庆临死前交代的财产总值,不算房产,合白银将近十万两,相当于今天的两千万。
    在今天看来,这是个十分可观的数字。
