三藩市市參事艾華樂(John Avalos)說︰“這不關蘇爾的事;但,一個人口不足100萬的城市的警察局長,年薪居然達30萬，實在太多了。”

蘇爾,今次加薪幅度為2%,這不是蘇爾與當局商討得來的,是基於蘇爾出任警長前，三藩市市府與市行政人員協會(Municipal Executives’ Association)之間的談判結果。

蘇爾的合約,將於2015年到期。
